Making the Transition

Listed are a few tips that may help you get off to a good start as you start your college journey.

Schedule your classes during times that work best for you. If you are not a morning person, don’t schedule 8:00am classes if you don’t think you’ll be there on time.

Develop a good track record by attending each class and being on time.

Keep up with assignments and introduce yourself to your professors. They are there to help you.

Become familiar with your professors’ office hours and reach out to them for help when you need it…it might help you in the long run.

Take advantage of tutoring services. If you find yourself having difficulty keeping up in class, seek help before you fall too far behind.

Set short term and long term goals and track your progress.

Take advantage of the opportunities to meet new people and develop new friendships.

Enjoy yourself.
